Ethical company
We, at spun-shop.com, believe that moral and ethics are important things if we want to live in a “better world”, where violence, hatred and disharmony will be less present.
We do not want gun dealers or tobacco companies, for example, within our clients.
One might argue that they have the right to run their business as they want. Yes, legally, they have this right. But what is “legal” is not always what is “moral”, and is certainly not always what is the best for our society. Fast-food advertisement targeting children might be legal, but we doubt that this is the best for our children’s (and our society as a consequence) health. Plundering the world’s natural resources might also be legal, but we definitively think that this is not helping our society (and our planet) in the long run.
Then, again, these companies have the legal right to sell their products which might have a bad effect on our society and on our planet. And we also have the right to choose not to have them as clients.
And we must add: We also all have the choice not to have them as suppliers as well...
That is why we decided to create a Code of Ethics that our clients will need to approve before being accepted as clients.
Doing so, we might loose clients, that is true. But we do not want to make money for ourselves while hurting or weakening others. That would not be a sustainable way of living.
